Astro AWANI (Channel 501) is Malaysia's first 24 hour news and information station. It was launched on September 6, 2007 in conjunction with the 50th Merdeka Celebration. Channel 501 provides coverage on international news from a local perspective. On March 2009, Astro AWANI produced its first English language programme.
Our programmes feature interviews with local experts and personalities in line with Astro AWANI's aspiration to provide global coverage and act as a gateway to the world to our viewers. Astro AWANI not only provides in-depth coverage of issues concerning Malaysia via its current affairs programmes but it also produces documentaries, magazine and talk show programmes.
